Creative Wall Storage
Creative Wall Storage For Crafters with Laura Vegas
I think something that a lot of us are constantly looking for is MORE storage. I consider myself to be a very organized person, and I make very good use of the space I have. But I seem to collect more and more supplies every week. So I'm constantly looking for more creative ways to find new storage space. One trick that I have found, is to use your walls. While you may not have room on a wall for a large shelf or storage unit, you might find that you have enough room to hang a photo or bulletin board. If you can fit either one of these on a wall space, you could very easily fit a small and narrow shelf in that same space.
I had my mom custom build these small shelves, to fit the wall space I had to work with. I simply measured the space I had, figured out what I was going to store on them, and how many shelves I wanted and the height of each. Then she worked her magic using some scrap pieces of wood, a few nails, and some black paint. It's such a basic shelf, that anyone could build one. The shelves are only 1.5 inches to 2 inches deep, so they don't stick out that far from your wall.
But those shelves can hold a ton of supplies. I originally used the first shelf for storing my bottles of paint. 48 bottles of paint, to be exact! Nowdays, I use that same shelf to hold the small Making Memories storage jars, which I have filled up with embellishments of all kinds. 48 jars of embellishments! And lastly, I have my stamp shelf, which holds a ton of wooden stamps and jars of embossing powder.
Take a look around your creative space, and see if maybe you have an area on your wall that isn't being used. Think of a creative way that you can make good use of that space. You'd be amazed at what you can fit in such a small area!

These look great your mom did a nice job on them. I like how you have a place/container for everything. Now if only I had a scrapbook room to organize as nicely as yours. Thanks for the ideas Laura!!
