VIP List Mini Album

This is an older mini-album but I'm pulling it out of the archives to showcase because it is one of my favorites. It's simple to make and a great project to document the people in your lives! It would also make a great project for kids, with just a little adult supervision. Plus, it's an excellent way to use up scraps of paper and random embellishments!

Supplies: 7 Gypsies Mini Album, index cards, scraps of patterned paper, ribbon, swirl stamp by Autumn Leaves library cards, file folders, letter stickers by Scenic Route, American Crafts and KI Memories, and Making Memories tags and rub ons

For the cover I used a brown label sticker, Scenic Route and American Crafts letter stickers. I inked the edges and add patterned packing tape down the right edge. I embellished it with some stamps and random stickers that I had lying around and then used the twine that came with the packaing of the 7 Gypsies Mini Album as an accent. I attached a Making Memories tag to the twine- it is actually a sticker but I just left the backing on it to use as a tag. I also cut out some scallops from white cardstock using my scalloped scissors to add to each side of the label sticker.

On the title page I used a corner rounder on the index and library cards. I added a title to the index card with Scenic Route stickers, then wrote added my journaling. I repeated this theme throughout the entire album. I added the "This is my family" phrase using various letter stickers and transparencies and the "Be Inspired" with rub-ons.

For each inner page I kept the same theme as on the cover page for the lefthand side, adding the girl's names and my journaling to an index card. On the righthand side, I covered the page with patterned paper. I cut a mini file folder to fit the album's width. I added decorative tape or patterned paper to the lefthand side of the file folder (I wrapped it around the folder so that it showed from the front and when opened) and attached a photo using photo corners. I added a stamp and attached a tag to ribbon or embroidery thread. I used different color for each girl, keeping the color theme in line with their personalities or favorite colors.

On the inner part of the file folder, I added the girl's names to the tab on the outer edge. I also added letter stickers and embellishments to the existing patterned papers and ribbons. Then I included a few inside jokes that I share with each girl.

That's it! It's a pretty formulaic album, but keeping the elements streamlined means that the album looks uniform, even though I used a hodge podge of papers and embellishments. The album in full can be seen below!

Hi Fiona! I used an American Crafts Slick Writer in a medium thickness :) I am pretty sure it says M on it instead of F :) HTH!
