First, you'll need a set of battery powered mini lights (Wilna's were from IKEA)
Then use a paper piecer to poke holes where you want your lights to be. Insert your lights from the back of the page.
Poke the lights through far enough so that the bulb is not touching the paper (we don't want to create a fire hazard!) Be sure to be gentle when you are poking the bulbs through because you don't want to create large holes, otherwise your bulbs won't fit snug.
When you are finished, this is how your page will look from the back! You can display it on an easel as Wilna did, or you could display it in a 12x12 frame.
Isn't it brilliant? It would be an excellent addition to any holiday decor.
Other ideas for using lights on your pages:
- does your little girl love to dress up? Use the lights to mimic a makeup mirror!
- is someone in your family the star of the show? Create a hollywood marquee!
- create holiday pieces by using lights in paper christmas trees, jackolanters, fireworks and more!
